Kemp back from Notre Dame trip

Carlo Kemp took another important step toward finding his future home this weekend, but he admitted it's only getting more difficult.

The four-star defensive end from Boulder (Colo.) Fairview hit the road for an official visit to Notre Dame, and the Fighting Irish certainly left a lasting impression. Kemp visited Michigan the weekend of Sept. 25 and had said the Wolverines raised the bar high.
The Wolverines, though, met those standards.

IN HIS WORDS: "The visit was awesome. I had a really good time," Kemp told Rivals.com. "Being able to hang out with all the coaches and get to see them once again was cool. And, of course, being at the game was great. My decision got harder. Trying to pick from the schools I've taken officials to is extremely difficult.
"I talked a lot with coach (Brian) VanGorder, coach (Mike) Elston and coach (Brian) Kelly. When we talked defense, they said I'd fit in very well with the style they run as a rush end and linebacker."
WHAT'S NEXT?: The Rivals250 prospect said he would officially visit Colorado this coming weekend for the matchup against Arizona. UCLA is the other program in Kemp's final four, but he said he is still in the process of scheduling a trip to see the Bruins.
RIVALS' REACTION: The Wolverines had taken a lead following Kemp's visit to Ann Arbor last month but it appears a return to South Bend helped the Fighting Irish pull even. It's definitely shaping up to be a two-team race and one that should unravel fairly quickly given that Kemp is an early enrollee who wants to make a decision sooner rather than later. The Buffaloes will try to keep him in town for college and the Bruins impressed him on a visit to the Rose Bowl last year, but the other two suitors hold the edge at the moment.
