Kemp back from Michigan trip

Four-star defensive end Carlo Kemp took the first step toward finding his future home, making his first official visit over the weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound prospect from Boulder (Colo.) Fairview visited Michigan and saw the Wolverines completely dominate BYU in front of a capacity crowd. Kemp got a rundown on the academic side of things, toured the campus and did all the things recruits experience on an official visit, but nothing surpassed the gameday experience.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Kemp is scheduled to visit Notre Dame the weekend of Oct. 9 when the Fighting Irish host Navy. He was supposed to stop by Colorado this coming weekend for the Buffaloes' primetime matchup against Oregon but Kemp said he has pushed that official back. He also intends to set up a trip with UCLA.
IN HIS WORDS: "Michigan was awesome," Kemp told Rivals.com. "Every single thing about it rocked. Going to the game was honestly my favorite part. ... Rashan Gary was on his official, too, and I was just really trying to get to know him. He's a really cool person and I'm glad I got to spend time with him this weekend. We both really enjoyed our trips.
"The bar, I guess, would be set pretty high from here on out."
RIVALS' REACTION: The Wolverines would have to feel pretty good about their chances with Kemp right now, especially given how the defense performed with him in attendance. Still, hometown Colorado, Notre Dame and UCLA are in contention and Kemp intends to sort through everything in the coming months before enrolling early. The bar has been raised, though, and it could be difficult for others to match that.
