Kelly planning Clemson visits

Rivals250 defensive end Xavier Kelly out of Wichita (Kan.) East logged thousands of miles on the road between May and July trying to narrow down his list of more than 30 offers and select a school before his senior season. On July 29 Kelly settled on Clemson and announced his commitment to the Tigers. Since then, the 6-foot-4, 257-pound Kelly has remained 100 percent committed to Clemson and is planning at least two more visits to get back down to the school before National Signing Day.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The first visit Kelly has planned to Clemson is for the Nov. 7 weekend when the Tigers host Florida State for what could be a showdown of two undefeated football teams. He will then return in January when the Tigers host their committed prospects for an official visit weekend.
IN HIS WORDS: "Definitely I am 100 percent committed to Clemson. I talk with pretty much (all Clemson's commits). We always stay in touch, see how things are going. I'm really excited about (Nov. 7) and it should be a good game. Hopefully they can both stay undefeated until the game. That would be exciting."
RIVALS' REACTION: Kelly's Wichita East squad is 0-7 on the season with a young football team, but personally Kelly feels he is having the best season of his career. The progression Kelly made from having over 30 offers to choosing Clemson went quickly, but the months since have entrenched and reaffirmed his commitment to the Tigers. The four-star prospect is ranked as the No. 160 player in the 2016 class and has high upside, with his best days of football certainly ahead of him.
