Kelley to visit UK first

LaGrange (Ga.) defensive lineman Braxton Kelley has set the date of his first official visit, and has two more schools chosen to receive visits at a later date. A 6-foot-2, 225-pound athlete, Kelley could play defensive end or linebacker in college.
“I’m going to visit the University of Kentucky the weekend of Sept. 17,” said Kelley. “I’m also visiting Virginia Tech and South Carolina, but I’m not sure of the dates of those visits. We haven’t worked out all the details just yet.”

Kelley and his teammates remained in the top spot of the Associated Press AAA state rankings after clobbering Jordan 56-7 on Saturday running their record to 3-0.
“I’m not sure yet what kind of number I posted over the weekend, but I had a pair of sacks and seven tackles in the opener,” explained Kelley. “We’ve got a big game against Shaw this Friday night. I think they’re ranked second in the state behind us.”
Kelley is hearing from several college programs since the contact period began last week.
“Coaches from each of my favorites have been calling me as well as coaches from Middle Tennessee State and Louisville,” said Kelley. “Middle Tennessee offered me a scholarship, but I haven’t received one from Louisville yet.”
Kentucky, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech continue to top the list for Kelley’s services. An all-state defensive lineman as a junior, Kelley posted well over 100 tackles to go along with 19 tackles for a loss and 14 sacks.
“I’m not sure what position I’m going to play in college,” admitted Kelley. “Every school seems to have a different idea of where I fit in.”
With his top three schools receiving official visits in the near future, is Kelley close to making a decision?
“I’ll probably wait until after the season is over to decide,” stated Kelley. “There is an outside chance I could commit early, but I don’t think that is very likely.”
