Keke hoping to narrow list

Over the last few months Richmond (Texas) George Ranch defensive lineman Kingsley Keke has had plenty of thinking to do.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound defender has seen offers arrive from across the country. The recruiting process has been exciting, enjoyable, and at times overwhelming. He has a lot on his plate and he is faced with difficult choices.

There are Florida, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, most recently Missouri, and many others. Still he hopes to name a top five after spring ball comes to a close. He has not yet arrived at his decision about his top five, but there are a few schools which have caught his attention at this point.
"Yes sir, well, I like Texas and Texas A&M, but Missouri offered me yesterday and they had the No. 1 defense in the SEC in tackles for loss and sacks," Keke said. "I like that they have some good d-linemen going to the draft. Plus, it's SEC football. So that kind of stands out to me a lot for me. I want to see how it is out there. And a little bit of Florida too. It's pretty much those right there that I'm pretty sure will probably be in my top five, but I still haven't had a chance to see if my family likes it and what's best for me."
Each of the four programs he mentioned has given him plenty to think about over the course of his recruiting process.
"Texas, it's Texas," Keke said. "I've always kind of seen me playing at Texas. When I was young I watched them with Vince Young and Ricky Williams and all those good players and Mack Brown. I've always liked Texas.
"Texas A&M, they've been good these past few years with Johnny Football. The defense has been ok, but they've been getting some good players to get that get that better. And I like the SEC in Texas, it's close to home.
"Florida, they have a defensive minded coach. It's not too far from home. It's a good place. They have a good defense too. I'm pretty sure they're in the top three on defense.
"Missouri, they led the nation in sacks and tackles for loss. They had a good year in picks and they had the No. 1 defense in the SEC. That's really good. They have a lot of people going into the draft too in Kone and Michael Sam."
Texas and Texas A&M have been pursuing the hardest and he is looking into attending a camp at one or both programs this summer. He is also looking into possibly taking a few official visits in the fall.
"Yes sir, Florida, I'm pretty sure I'll take a visit to Florida and Missouri," Keke said. "And I might take a visit to Miami. Those will probably be official (visits)."
He is not sure when he would like to make a commitment decision at this time, but he does know what he is looking for in a future college program.
"I'd say a team that plays good defense and has gotten a lot of good d-linemen into the NFL," Keke said.
