Keenan's picked up big offers early in his recruitment

UAB offered first just a few days after the freshman season of Tim Kennan ended. He waited a few months later before receiving offer No. 2. Louisville offered the 6-foot-2, 290 pound defensive tackle in the 2021 class in April.

South Carolina was next to pull the trigger later in the spring. It was a big summer for the sophomore out of Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay. He added an offer from Alabama after impressing the staff in Tuscaloosa at camp.

The Crimson Tide offer was a big one with it being an in-state school.

“To get the offer from Alabama was like a blessing,” said Keenan. “I trusted my coaches and my trainer and they equipped me with the tools to go out and perform. I felt comfortable out there and I felt grateful and honored to get it.

“I got it after the camp and coach Nick Saban talked to me about it after camp. He told me that I was different as a young guy and that is why they offered. He talked about my first step off the ball, how explosive I am and he feels I would have an opportunity to play there.”

Could Auburn be next? Keenan was on the Plains for the LSU game and the Tigers have their eye on him.

“They like me and they said they will be pursuing, so Auburn is watching me this season. They want me back up there and they like me a lot, so we will see if they offer.”

Keenan does not know much about Louisville or South Carolina yet. He may visit Baton Rouge this weekend with LSU offering earlier this month. He is just taking the recruiting process slow. He knows he has plenty of time to find the right place for him.

“I am putting it all in God’s hands,” said Kennan. “I am just putting this all in His hands and letting Him lead me.

“I liked Alabama and Auburn some too growing up, but I am really just a football fan.

“In due time I will have a top school, but I am not there right now. I am just putting all of this in God’s hands.”
