Going into his first official visit, a trip to South Carolina, Tucker, Ga., linebacker Tavares Kearney had said his two favorites were the Gamecocks and Ohio State.
So how did Kearney's visit to South Carolina go and have the Gamecocks moved into the lead?
"I liked the players and the Columbia area," Kearney said. "I met coach Spurrier. I liked the new coaches he brought in. I got to go out on the campus and meet the professors.
"Ohio State is supposed to call this week. I'm supposed to visit there next.
"Both schools are still even."
Asked if his decision is down to the Buckeyes and Gamecocks, Kearney said, "Georgia and Louisville came in. I'm waiting for them to call me back."
