KC recruit picks Big 12 school

There have been a lot of good linebackers that have come from Rockhurst High and head coach Tony Severino believes Sal Capra is among the best of them.
"He's in that same mold as Kevin Kane, Sean Doyle and all of the others that have played here," Severino said. "KU got a steal in this one. He's one of those guys that runs downhill. I call him one of those 'thud hitters.' When he hits you, you hear a thud."

Capra, who is one of three Rockhurst players with early division one offers, took unofficial visits to Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, and Colorado State.
"I just felt Kansas was the right place for me," Capra said. "I like coaching staff there and it is close to home. I wanted to play in the Big 12. I would say that Colorado State was second on my list."
Capra said he was recruited by Kansas linebackers coach Dave Doeren, and Mark Mangino also made a trip to Rockhurst.
With football camp right around the corner, Capra said he can now focus on his senior season.
"I'm glad recruiting is already over," he said. "I don't like the pressure of recruiting. I'm glad I picked Kansas and now I can focus on my senior season and not have to worry about recruiting."
