Katz lands pair of offers

Santa Monica (Calif.) quarterback Ryan Katz has been more than patient waiting for his next scholarship offer to roll in. After a very good showing at the NIKE Camp at USC, Air Force offered giving the signal caller his lone offer to date. That all changed Wednesday offers No. 2 and 3 came in for Katz.
Katz, 6-1.5, 195 pounds has been one of the biggest discovery's of the Spring. He was arguably the best signal caller we saw at the SoCal NIKE Camp and then backed it up with strong showings at the EA SPORTS Elite 11 workout in Berkeley and the NIKE Camp at Stanford the following day.

Still, schools seemed reluctant to go on him saying they wanted to wait until his senior year to watch him when the pads come on. We totally get that, but when lesser quarterbacks have been offered all Spring, we had to wonder, where's the love for Katz? That changed on Wednesday.
"Utah and Wyoming both offered me," an excited Katz said. "I'm hoping this will get the ball rolling for me but I'm very excited about both of these two schools.
"I don't know as much about Wyoming but I've heard a lot of good things about Utah and I'm going to take an unofficial visit out there in the summer. I'm not sure exactly when, but sometime in the summer so I can see the campus and the area and get a feel for it there.
"I'm also going to Oregon State's three day camp and I might visit Washington as well. Oregon State has been recruiting me for awhile and Washington sounds like they could be close to offering as well so I want to check them out."
After seeing Katz up close three times this Spring, we have no doubt he's a high Div I level player and it wouldn't surprise us if his offer count continues to rise in the coming weeks.
