Kashmere prospects wait for offers

Kashmere High is deep in the heart of Houston and is surrounded by some of the toughest neighborhoods in the nation's fourth-largest city. It's so tough that the school's favorite son, former NFL running back Rodney Hampton, has a prosperous neighborhood business as a bonds bailsman.
Two jewels from this proud but rough area are Kashmere teammates Nathan Guillory and Jatrel Rollins.

Guillory, an all-purpose running back, tore up his inner city foes last season, earning the district's offensive MVP. His performance has also earned him looks from the likes of Arizona, TCU and UTEP. He recently camped at Arizona and is awaiting a potential offer.
"I really liked it over there," he said. "They showed me around and told me they would have an answer for me in the next few weeks. I camped at TCU and visited there during the Nike Camp. I liked it also. I also went to UTEP's camp here in Houston."
Guillory plans on camping at LSU on July 22nd after finishing up his team's 7-on-7 tournaments.
"I want to commit before the season starts and I really want to get out of town," he said.
Guillory anchors his school's sprint relay teams, which reached the regional meet this spring.
Another quadruple threat is Rollins, who starts for the football, baseball, basketball and track team.
Rollins, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end is receiving interest from Missouri, UTEP and New Mexico and lists Houston, Ole Miss and Mississippi State as other favorites.
"I'm just working out at the school and playing 7-on-7," he said. "I've played in a few AAU basketball tournaments also."
Rollins blocking skills are showcased in Kashmere's offense, but his athleticism and pass-catching skills are evident given his play on the basketball court and as a first baseman in baseball.
