Kareem adds three more B1G offers

The end of the dead period saw another wave of offers roll in for Farmington Hills (Mich.) Harrison four-star 2016 defensive end Khalid Kareem.
"Michigan State came through last night," Kareem said. "Then, (Michigan) coach (Jim) Harbaugh actually came to school and offered me this morning. The Indiana coach also came and offered me today."

Iowa also sent a coach to Kareem's school Thursday. The Hawkeyes had previously extended the 6-foor-4, 240-pound defensive end an offer. Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson was the one who was in Kareem's school and extended the offer.
"I really didn't talk to (Wilson) much, but I should be giving him a call soon," Kareem said.
The offers from in-state Big Ten programs Michigan State and Michigan were Nos. 19 and 20. He knows both programs well.
"Growing up I was really neutral, just because we are equal distance from each school," Kareem said. "I didn't really pick a side, but always kept track of Michigan and Michigan State when I was younger."
Kareem attended Michigan State games this past season, and likes what he sees out of the Spartan's defense.
"I can fit perfectly into the Michigan State defense," Kareem said. "I feel like I actually play just like Shilique Calhoun."
Prior to Harbaugh's visit Kareem had been in contact with Michigan, and is looking forward to seeing the program develop under a new staff.
"I kinds of knew the offer was coming, but it was good today to get it," Kareem said. "I think it's going to be a good situation. Sometimes there is a need for change, and I just really want to see what he does in his first year and what changes with the program."
Kareem already has a junior day visit set up to Ohio State on Jan. 25, and this weekend he will be traveling to Pittsburgh to see a basketball game and meet with new head coach Pat Narduzzi.
"I really want to see their defense because (Narduzzi) said he's bringing a lot of the same things that he did at Michigan State to Pitt," Kareem said.
Kareem is ranked as the No. 233 player in the 2016 class. He accumulated 85 tackles and 19 sacks during his junior season at Harrison.
