Kansas WR ready for another chance

Topeka (Kan.) Hayden wide receiver Jared Tetuan wants to make a statement at the University of Kansas fooball camp this week.
“I went to the Nike camp in Boulder last month and I was disappointed in my performance," Tetuan said. "I'm glad I'm getting another chance. I’m going to do a lot better at KU’s camp. I need to show I'm better than I was out there."

Tetuan's camp schedule also includes going to a one-day camp at Kansas State, the school his older brother Jesse plays at.
“I would have liked to go to both of the full camps but they’re the same week so I had to choose one. And I'm going to Kansas' this week."
Does that mean Kansas is his leader?
“Oh, yeah," the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Tetuan said. "I would really like to go to KU. They’ve been recruiting me the hardest and the staff has had a lot of contact with my coach. They’re looking at me as an inside receiver and return man. They haven’t given me an offer yet but I’m hoping they will.”
Other schools contacting Jared are Kansas State, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and UConn.
Tetuan earned all-city and all-league honors as a junior. He was also voted his team’s offensive player of the year. He plays on the Hayden basketball and baseball teams.
Jared is the younger brother of Wichita State pitcher John Tetuan.
"I enjoy baseball and basketball a lot," Tetuan said. "But I want to play football."
What does he think about competing against a brother in Big 12 football?
“I’d like to knock heads with Jesse. That would be fun.”
