Position: Running Back
Size and Speed: Wilson is 6-foot-2 and 215-pounds. He has been timed at 4.50 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He is the state of Kansas' defending 200-meter Class 5A champion.
Statistics: Wilson carried the ball 199 times during his junior campaign for 1,499 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Favorite Schools: Wilson's coach Rick Anderson indicates "about everybody" has some interest in his standout running back. But, at this time, the main five in the hunt are Michigan, Kansas State, Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri.
Skinny: Wilson is in the running to be the state of Kansas' top player for the Class of 2004.
"Kenny has about everybody showing some interest in him," Anderson said. "But the biggest question is whether he's going to be a predictor or not. He's working hard already. I've seen some improvement this year. If that doesn't continue to get turned around he'll be headed to junior college."
Wilson is one of the most talented players to come through Liberal High School in a long time.
"I talked to (former Liberal coach) Gary Cornelson about Kenny. He told me that Kenny was ahead of (current K-State running back) Carlos Alsup at this state as a ball carrier. And Carlos turned in a pretty impressive senior season."
Wilson also excels on the track.
"Kenny won the 200-meter a year ago at the state track meet. This year he is trying for the 100-meter and the 200-meter. His speed in the 40-yard we timed him a year ago is a little misleading. With his speed on the track, his 40 time is really better than that."
