Kansas RB awaiting offers
Olathe (Kan.) East running back Andre Jones continues to await his first scholarship offer to come.
“Right now everything is going well for Andre,” Olathe East coach Jeff Myers said. “He still has not gotten the ACT qualifying score yet. He is just one point away. I’m sure some of them are keeping an eye out for that, too.

“He is being recruited by several Division I-A schools. They have all been recruiting him pretty hard. They’ll be watching him as we get rolling next week. He’s going to be on their watch list this fall, so people can see how he plays and the offers could come from that.”
Jones had a small surgery during the summer.
“He had turf toe type surgery this summer,” Myers said of the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Jones. “But, he’s recovered from that. He’s fine and he’s been looking very good in practice.”
East opens the 2004 season on Sept. 3 against Olathe (Kan.) Northwest, a new school for the 2004-05 school year.
