Kansas OL picks up first offer

Topeka (Kan.) Hayden offensive lineman Nick Stringer has picked up his first scholarship offer of the year.
“My first scholarship offer came from Oklahoma State about a week and a half ago,” the 6-foot-5, 255-pound Stringer said. “They are the only one to offer so far. I am talking to several other schools though.”

Stringer has received phone calls this month from Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Nebraska in addition to the Cowboys.
“Nebraska has really just been recruiting me a little bit now,” he said. “But, they seem interested.”
Stringer did take in the Kansas State spring game.
“I enjoyed it there,” he said. “It is a good program. I got the chance to see a little bit more than I had before. I really do like the schools I have been talking to lately. Right now, I would say there are a couple that I am leaning toward. I like Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Kansas.”
Stringer hopes to make his decision early to avoid any distractions.
“I would like to make my decision before my senior year starts so I don’t have to worry about it then,” he said. “I won’t rush it, but it would be nice to get it out of the way.”
Stringer plans on several camps in early June.
“The month of June is going to be complete camps,” he said. “The first of June I will go to the one day at Kansas in Lawrence. Then on the third I will go to Oklahoma State. From there I will go to Manhattan for their camp. Then I come back and go to the Missouri camp on the 12th and 13th of the month.”
