Kansas gets Hatchs first visit

Dallas (Texas) Carter offensive center Jeremiah Hatch finally got on the road for his first official visit this weekend and came away very impressed with what he saw at Kansas.
The 6-foot-3, 301-pounder went on the trip to Lawrence, Kansas along with his mother and grandmother. The visit was definitely more than he expected both with the facilities and his interaction with the people there.

"Kansas went pretty good," Hatch said. "It was a lot better than I thought it would ever be. The people there were really great. The coaches treated my mom and my grandma right. Plus, my host was really nice (Anthony Collins).
"He was really straight forward with me and down to earth. He was telling me the pros and cons. It just felt real to me."
Up next, Hatch plans to visit Arizona and Texas Tech.
"Arizona will be next, that's this weekend (Dec. 8)," Hatch said. "The Arizona coach came to my school and talked to my coach. When I talk to them, they tell me that they've got one person at center and if I can win the job, I need to come on down.
The Texas Tech visit will be on Dec. 15 according to Hatch. He'd also like to get out to Texas A&M on an official visit before committing.
"Once I can get all the visits done, I'll decide," Hatch said. "Right now, I just have those three planned."
As for favorites, he's keeping things open but says that the Jayhawks made a move up the list.
"They're right up there," he said about KU. "Of course, they're my first visit, so they're going to be high early on."
