Blue Valley and Blue Valley West might be rivals on the field, but off the field West linebacker Andrew Gachkar and Blue Valley safety Trey Hobson are good friends. Both players took unofficial visits to Missouri on Thursday, and both came away with big impressions of the campus in Columbia, Mo.
"I really loved the campus," Hobson, who is 5-foot-11 and 168 pounds, said. "It was amazing. MU is definitely a place I can see myself at."
Gachkar, who is 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, also had plenty of positives to talk about after his trip to Mizzou.
"The campus was amazing," he said. "I was really impressed with all the new facilities that they've got. I also had a really good talk with Gary Pinkel. He's a real good guy and he's about the right things. He's really straight forward and doesn't seem like he's untruthful."
There was some thought that the Tigers could walk away with two commitments after the trips today, but at this point both Kansas stars say they want to still wait things out.
"I'm still a strong lean to Missouri," Gachkar said. "I'm still looking around, but I'm still strong on them and like what they say. I just want to see if there are going to be any other offers, but I really liked their campus."
Hobson it appears is a little further away from a pledge at this point.
"He loved it, too," Gachkar said. "I think we were just amazed at all the new facilities, but Trey is more open than I am, I think."
Gachkar could be close to picking up an offer from Kansas, and other teams like Kansas State, Michigan, Purdue and Ball State have also been in contact. Hobson also has an offer from Ball State and likes Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Nebraska and Northwestern.
