Kansas DT likes Big 12 coach

Olathe (Kan.) North defensive tackle Adam Venegas is working hard this season to show he can play the game. Early on in the recruiting process, he has found one coach he really likes.
"I've had the chance to go to one of KU's games," the 6-foot-5, 277-pound Venegas said. "It was their first home game, the one against Southwest Missouri. I had a real good time. I got to talk to the coaches after the game. I really like Coach (Mark) Mangino. I think he is the type of guy who can get the job done there."

The Jayhawks are one ofthe schools on Venegas' list at this point in time.
"I'd say my top schools are Kansas, Colorado State, Oklahoma State and Kansas State. I don't have any scholarship offers yet though. I'm hoping if we have a good season and I do well, the offers will come."
Venegas' Olathe North team is well on their way to having another 'good' season. Through the season's first five games, they still have an unbeaten record, at 5-0.
"I don't know my exact total stats. I know I have four quarterback sacks. My tackle total is up there, but I don't know the number."
