Kansas City RB one of citys best

Olathe (Kan.) East running back Andre Jones was one of the top performers in the Kansas City area this season. After totaling over 2,100 all-purpose yards on the season, the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder was named one of four finalists for the Simone Award which signifies the top player in the Kansas City area each year.
“Coaches are coming in all the time to speak to me about Andre,” Olathe East coach Jeff Myers said. “He has some work to do to get qualified. He has a 16 on the ACT test right now and he is looking at improving his grades a bit, too. Some are talking about him if he can make it to a partial qualifier status, but more than likely he will be headed to a junior college for a couple of years.”

Ball State, Arkansas State, Tulsa, Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri are schools that are keeping an eye on Jones.
“The three local schools have been watching him for a long time, and they know what his situation is. The others like Ball State, Arkansas State and Tulsa are keeping an eye out on him just in case it would work out for him to make it.
“But, he is talking to almost all of the Kansas junior colleges. I think he will likely end up at one of them, but guessing which one might be difficult right now.”
On the season, Jones rushed for 1,100 yards, had 500 yards receiving and 500 yards in returns. He scored a combined 30 touchdowns.
