Kansas back waiting on trips

As most teams prepare for runs deep into the playoffs two-star running back Duone Maxwell of Kansas City (Kan.) Washington has already checked-in his pads.
"Yes sir, we went 4-5 and missed out on the playoffs," said Maxwell. "I had a good season, but we really wanted to go to the playoffs."

Although out of the playoffs Maxwell can now focus on where he will be attending classes in the fall next year. He currently has a scholarship offer from Wyoming, but other schools have been showing him more interest.
"Right now Kansas State, Air Force, and Butler Community College have been showing interest in me," he said. "I will be setting up visits with the schools, but not until probably a time in December when my mom will be able to go with me.
As for where Maxwell will be visiting is also undecided.
"I really just need to sit down and really evaluate all the schools," he said.
"I want to look and see how the campuses are and how the schools stand academically against each other."
Maxwell is ranked as the No. 11 player in Kansas. He won the Class 5A state championship in the 200 meters in 2008. Has a top 100 meter time of 10.4 seconds.
