Kansas ATH makes college choice

Wichita (Kan.) Heights athlete T.J. Atwater took only one official visit this year, but it was enough for him to be sure of his college destination.
“T.J. took a trip up to Wyoming this past weekend,” Heights coach Rick Wheeler said. “He really liked what he knew about them before he went and when he got home he knew where he wanted to go. He gave them a verbal commitment on Monday.”

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Atwater is going to be a cornerback and kick returner for the Cowboys.
“He was not a quarterback, but he played quarterback for us,” Wheeler said. “He was our leader and the heart and soul of the team. The Wyoming coaches saw him play and offered him shortly after. They liked what they saw out of him.
“He’ll be playing cornerback and returning kicks for them. He will be a good addition to their team.”
Atwater had a visit scheduled for this weekend to Northern Iowa, but with his verbal commitment he has cancelled the trip.
