Kane talks about why he chose Cal

Cal has had very good success recruiting on the defensive line the past few years. Yet another talented tackle they just added to the fold is Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha's Jonathan Kane who chose the Bears over Oregon State.
Kane, 6-3, 295 pounds visited Cal back in November and has had the Bears leading ever since. He also visited San Diego State and Oregon State but said the Bears had too many pluses to turn down.
"They had a great season and I want to play for a winning program," Kane said. "They were also one of the first schools to recruit and offer me. They have been on me for a long time, since basically the beginning of recruiting season and I had the best relationship with the coaches they have.

"I also know some people there and Albert Ma'afala is a good friend of mine and he likes it there. I'm hoping to come in and play right away next year. Everyone wants to play and I think it will all come down to how I look in fall practice. If I'm ready to play in their eyes, I'll play because I really don't want to have to redshirt."
