Kalu keeps low profile

Alief (Texas) Taylor safety Joshua Kalu has been spending his time this summer working out with teammates and keeping a low profile.
The 6-1, 170-pound defensive back holds offers from Arkansas State, Colorado, Duke, Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette, Nebraska, SMU, Rice, Texas State, UTSA, Wake Forest, and Washington State, and when it comes to recruiting he is keeping an open mind.

This summer Kalu has not been able to hit the camp circuit too hard. He attend a TCU camp, but it was rained out. He mentioned a possible visit to Nebraska in the past but was unable to make it. He was able to visit Houston though.
"It was nice," Kalu said. "Houston, I kind of know everything they can sell me on. I talked to the DB coach and he showed me some things like coverages and things like that. It was nice."
Rice has also been in touch about the defensive standout making a trip to visit the campus.
At this point in the process, he is not ready to name a favorite. He does not have a set schedule when it comes to making a decision but he does have an idea about how he would like to narrow his list.
"Before the season I want to be able to knock it down to a top three and then be able to take my visits or whatever and choose from there," Kalu said. "When I make a commitment I'm one of those people who wants to stick with it. I don't want to be one of those people who switch and stuff. I want to make the right decision the first time."
What is he looking for in a program? The coaches and defensive scheme will play a part as well as the normal weather of his future destination.
