Kaindoh in search of academic fit

Josh Kaindoh's last visit was to Ohio State in mid June. Since then, the five-star defensive end taken some time to collect himself and prepare for his junior season. It seems little has changed during his travel hiatus, however, as the same schools that were at the forefront of his recruitment months ago remain unchanged. Penn State and Maryland join the Buckeyes at the top of the class-of-2017 standout's list, and the three programs are jockeying for position.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Now attending high school at Florida's IMG academy, a new region fiull of colleges could enter the mix for Kaindoh. Expect Miami and Florida State to become involved in the near future. The five-star prospect says he intends to visit Stanford, Notre Dame and others in the coming months but has yet to land an offer from either program as things stand now.
IN HIS WORDS: "I'm pretty open right now," Kaindoh said at IMG Academy media day last week. "I'm still waiting to see, but Penn State is still up there. So is Maryland. Ohio State is up there too. Other than that, I don't really have anyone else up there. I'm open."
RIVALS' REACTION: Penn State is holds an early edge for Kaindoh, but Ohio State has closed the gap significantly. Stanford is lying in the weeds, however, as an offer from the Cardinal could shake things up quite a bit. Kaindoh is genuinely focused on his academic future, giving Stanford quite a bargaining chip should it decide to offer him a scholarship. Maryland, for the time being, functions as the dark horse in Kaindoh's recruitment.
