Kabongo adjusts his list of finalists

Four-star defensive tackle Masengo Kabongo continues to be down to three schools, although the 6-foot-3, 279-pounder has changed up his list just a bit. Who did the Fairfield (Conn.) Fairfield College Prep School lineman drop from his list?
"Right now I'm just hanging out staying away from recruiting," he said. "I've basically got two schools now in Florida and Maryland.

"Notre Dame is out of it because they've picked up a lot of defensive tackles. I am still considering the Ivy League schools though; in particular I'm looking at Princeton."
What interests the Rivals250 prospect about his three finalists?
"I like the fact Princeton is an amazing school academically," he said. "If I go to Florida I like that I'd be competing for the national championship every year, while at Maryland I believe they are a program that is building up. I believe for a fact by my senior year they'll be competing for a championship too."
At this time, Florida still hasn't offered Kabongo.
"They've given me a verbal and have said they have to see me in person," he said. "I'm planning to go down there for an official visit."
Although he hasn't started scheduling visits, the No. 1 prospect in Connecticut plans to make his way on trips sometime during the season.
"I'm looking at taking my officials and then I'll decide towards the end of the football year."
Currently, Kabongo isn't worrying himself much with the recruiting process.
"Instead, I'm just practicing and lifting. I'm looking forward to my senior season and am excited about it. We officially start two-a-days on August 20th."
