Rivals100 defensive tackle Masengo Kabongo picked up offer No. 4 on Wednesday. The Fairfield (Conn.) Fairfield College Prep star added his latest scholarship from the ACC.
"I got an offer from North Carolina State," he said. "I called one of the assistant coaches after my coach told me I got an offer. They said that they are sending me everything in the mail.
"I know a little bit about NC State. They got their new staff from Boston College which is pretty big because they used to recruit me for BC. Other than that I don't know too much about the school I'll find out more when I get all the information."
Meanwhile, Kabongo has offers from Boston College, Maryland and Connecticut. He is also receiving interest from some of the top teams in the country including Florida, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Southern Cal.
Does Kabongo have any visits coming up?
"I'm going to Notre Dame on the 21st for their Gold and Blue game," he said. "I just want to go see the campus and get to know the coaches more. I want to understand what kind of people they are in life and not just through text messages."
The Connecticut lineman is also looking at making trips to Connecticut for their spring game and possibly Boston College in the near future.
Currently no schools are standing out for Kabongo, although that should change soon.
"Everybody is the same, but I'm starting to work on bringing everything down," he said. "I want to decide where I'm going in the next two months.
"Basically I'm looking for an education. I want a good school and then I like the tradition. Location doesn't matter at all to me, I'll go wherever."
Kabongo registered 87 tackles, 27 for loss, 9.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and one interception as a junior.
