K-State takes lead for DB

John Randle, the top player remaining on the board in the Sunflower State, said he’s still having a hard time picking between Kansas and Kansas State. So he joked about a potential solution to the problem.
“I told them both that I should just go to Missouri,” Randle, the nation’s No. 31 cornerback, said. “I’m just kidding. It’s still K-State and KU, but I’m still having a hard time making up my mind.”

But for the first time there appears to be a favorite in the group. Randle, who is 6-foot and 170 pounds, said K-State is his leader but KU coach Mark Mangino called him on Sunday and did his best pitch job again.
“He said he wants me and was talking about all the other good recruits they’re getting,” he said. “Coach also told me that they need me to help them turn the program around.”
K-State coaches have also talked with Randle this weekend and he said he has a good feeling about the Wildcats.
“K-State is my leader,” he said. “They’re telling me that I could come up there and be a great ball player. They’re not promising me playing time and things that the other schools are. They’re telling me that if I’m good enough that I will play and that I shouldn’t sell myself short.”
But Randle said he’s not ready to pull the trigger quite yet. He said he hopes to have a decision very soon, but couldn’t pin-point a specific point in time.
“I wish I did have a story to report to you guys,” he said. “Like I said, K-State is my first choice now, but I keep going back and forth in my head.”
