K/P Ravanesi talks Northwestern visit

Carol Stream (Ill.) junior kicker/punter prospect Scott Ravanesi (6-foot-0, 180 pounds) from Glenbard North High School is a very solid all around player for the Panthers, yet Ravanesi's foot could definitely be his ticket to playing major college football. Ravanesi was a guest at last Saturday's Northwestern University junior day.
"I really had a good day at Northwestern," Ravanesi said. "I was able to spend some quality time with the coaches at Northwestern, and since head coach Randy Walker is also the special teams coach I was able to get to know Coach Walker pretty well."

Ravanesi talked about what stood out on his day in Evanston.
"The coaches really went out of their way to make everyone feel welcomed. We also had a nice lunch and presentation, plus we had a chance to take a tour of the campus and the facilities. I was really impressed with the campus and the facilities at Northwestern. The campus is just beautiful and it makes you feel like your at a Big Ten campus, but it also isn't overwhelming from a size standpoint. I really liked Northwestern a lot, and the junior day was just a really good experience."
Ravanesi, who made 7 field goal attempts in his 2004 junior season as well as placing more than half of his kickoff attempts into the end zone, is also looking at making a few more junior day events.
"I also have been invited to junior days at both Illinois and Purdue, and I'm going to try and check those out. I'm in the middle of my basketball season right now and it's hard to get away with the playoffs just right around the corner."
