First-Up: Adam Tenney
Position: Cornerback/Running back.
Size and Speed: Adam stands 6-foot-3, weighs in at 190 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.
Statistics: Adam was the teams second leading tackler as a cornerback and caught 18 passes and scored four touchdowns out of the backfield as a running back.
Honors: Adam is an all-county and all-league defensive back selection.
Favorite Schools: Adam is a super student with a 3.7 GPA. The schools that are showing interest is Adam are the great academic institutions like Stanford, Northwestern and Ivy League schools.
The Skinny: Adam has great feet for a tall kid. He’s a rangy and lean framed young man who looks like he will get bigger and stronger. Adam is a terrific all-around athlete who helped his team as a cornerback, multi-purpose running back and he even handled the place-kicking chores as a junior.
Though he projects as a cornerback on the next and plays running back offense, with his size, speed and hands, Adam could end up as a wide receiver…
Next-Up: J.C. Cooper
Position: Linebacker/Athlete.
Size and Speed: J.C. stands 6-foot-1, weighs in at 210 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. Coach McCallister, Carlsbad’s head coach, feels that Cooper will probably weigh in at 220 pounds by the time his senior season begins. “I don’t know his exact weight lifting numbers,” said McCallister. “Let me say that he benches a lot and is very strong.”
Statistics: N/A.
Honors: Cooper was an all-league selection and was his team’s most inspirational player.
Favorite Schools: Like Adam, J.C., is a super student with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Cooper is getting a lot of interest from Ivy League schools, Northwestern, Oregon, UCLA, Colorado, Colorado State.
The Skinny: “J.C. is a strong physical young man who makes plays,” said McCallister. “He’s a pleasure to coach and has outstanding leadership skills.”
The talented Mr. Cooper may end adding quarterback to his duties this fall. “J.C. is such a great athlete that we may end up playing him at quarterback. We think with J.C.’s athleticism and skill level he could end up being an outstanding option quarterback,” added coach McCallister…
