Junior Torzy has clear favorite

Warren (Mich.) DeLaSalle outside linebacker Shane Torzy will be one of the top linebacker prospects in the state of Michigan's class of 2007.
The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Torzy was an all-league and all-county selection his sophomore year when he made 67 tackles.

This season he is playing outside linebacker, wide receiver, and does his teams punting and kicking. Torzy will be an outside linebacker or strong safety in college.
Father Mark Torzy was an offensive tackle for the Michigan Wolverines from 1975-79. Shane is interested in following in his father's footsteps.
"I get tickets to Michigan for their home games," Shane said. "I've been to a lot of their games. I've been in their locker room. I went to their game against Penn State."
Michigan is however not the only school showing interest in Torzy.
"I get stuff from Michigan State," he said. "Iowa and Wisconsin send stuff telling me about their university. And Indiana. And I got one letter from Notre Dame.
"That's the ones I can remember off the top of my head."
When asked if he has a favorite school, the talked turned back to Michigan.
"Michigan is my favorite," he said. "I was born and raised a Michigan fan."
