Position: Offensive guard
Size and speed: Brock is 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds. He has a 22-inch vertical leap, 280-pound bench press and can squat 455 pounds. He has also been timed at 5.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: It’s hard to keep track of statistics for an offensive lineman, but Brock is also a solid wrestler and participates in track.
Honors: Brock is a two-year letter winner and considered one of the better prospects in the state of Colorado for the Class of 2003.
Favorite Schools: Wyoming, Kansas, Colorado, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Oklahoma are the early top teams for Brock. He describes Oklahoma as his “dream school.”
Skinny: If you like hulking offensive linemen that play for one of the top programs in the state of Colorado, then Aurora (Colo.) Eaglecrest standout Tyler Brock would be high on your list.
That’s because Brock has worked his way to becoming one of the state of Colorado’s better players and he’s already getting attention from the college coaches to prove it.
What other than his huge 6-4 and 275-pound frame makes him stand out to colleges?
“I’m a smart player,” Brock said. “I’m also aggressive. I’m smart and aggressive – but I don’t get called for many penalties.”
Brock said a few things are going to weigh in his college decision.
“The location, academics and the overall athletic program are going to be key for me,” he said.
Brock has solid plans to attend the Colorado football camp, but also recently received an invitation to attend the Oklahoma camp and is pondering whether or not he’s going to make the trip to camp there.
Brock said he does not really have a leader at this point in the recruiting process.
