Position: Defensive Tackle/Offensive Tackle
Size and speed: Tony Brinkhaus is 6–foot-3 and 285 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 5.1 seconds.
Statistics: Last season he had 54 tackles, four sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, eight tackles for a loss, three caused fumbles and one fumble recovery. He also played some offensive tackle.
Honors: He was named first team all-conference, first team all-metro and recently he as named by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune as one of the top twelve players for this coming season.
Favorite Schools: He is hearing from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, Colorado, Iowa State, Baylor, Stanford, Harvard, Penn, and Drake so far.
He would like to visit these schools at this particular time:
Minnesota - “Minnesota definitely as it is pretty cool and home state. I have gone to the camp there the last two seasons and I have well there. I think the coaches are cool. I like Mason (head coach).”
Illinois - “It is the Big 10 and I have been getting mail from them lately. It seems like a good location.”
Nebraska - “Nebraska, it is the tradition. I have been raised on it. I went to a game this season and it is amazing the field and how crazy the fans are there. It would be fun.”
Wisconsin - “They were the first place that I got anything from and that got me excited pretty fast. It is really close to home. They have pretty good tradition there.”
Missouri “I have not gotten anything for them and I think that would a pretty cool place too. It is kind of a long shot, but it is another camp that I have been thinking about going to. I like their basketball and football team and it is on the rise. It is on the bubble for me.”
Skinny: "In my junior year I got a lot smarter. I learned to flow to the ball real easy. I did better as the year went on. I stuffed the run.“
He feels that his speed is even better than what he has been timed at.
“My squats have been helping (his leg strength) so much. That is what I have been going hard on more than anything lately.”
He does 225 pounds of five sets of five and then he works up to 275 pounds five times. Then he will do 315 pounds up to three times.
