Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Tommy stands 6-foot-6, weighs 215 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds.
Statistics: Grady threw for 2,750 yards and 33 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions as a junior. Tommy completed 60% of his passes during the 2001 season.
Honors: Tommy was selected all-state, all-CIF, all-area, all-county and offensive Player of the Year for his league.
Favorite Schools: Grady is keeping his options open but every school in the nation would love to get Tommy’s John Hancock next February. UCLA, USC, Washington - heck the entire Pac 10 is recruiting him. LSU, Tennessee, Wisconsin and many more are all recruiting the talented signal caller from Huntington Beach. Most have offered.
The Skinny: “Tommy is the real deal,” said Edison head coach Dave White. Grady proved that statement with a very impressive performance against Long Beach (Calif.) Poly in the CIF division one championship when he lit Poly up for over 300 yards. Now that is saying something. Poly was one of the most talented teams in the nation.
Grady is an outstanding all-around athlete who also participates in baseball as a pitcher and basketball. Tommy’s future is on the gridiron.
Tommy possesses a big time arm who can throw the ball 70 yards in the air! “Tommy throws a great deep ball,” said White. “He is very accurate when going deep.”
Grady isn’t bad throwing short or making the tough out pass. “Tommy can make all the throws,” said White. “He can throw with great touch or throw the out with extreme heat.”
Tommy has good bloodlines. His brother Jeff Grady is scheduled to be the starter for Fresno State this season.
Grady is considered the best QB prospect in southern California this season.
