Junior to Watch: Patrick Barnette

School: Eatontown (N.J.) Monmouth Regional

Position: Athlete

Size and speed: Pat is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash.

Statistics: As a wideout Pat had 12 catches for almost 400 yards and two touchdowns. He had better than a 30 yard-per-catch average. From his cornerback position, he had 45 tackles and two interceptions. Pat is also a starter on the Monmouth basketball team, which is one of the top teams in the Shore Conference.

Honors: All-conference defensive back

Favorite Schools: He has no favorite at this time. Pat has been contacted by many schools such as Boston College, Virginia, Maryland, Penn State and others. He also attended the Syracuse Junior Day.

Skinny: Big-time schools are just starting to find out about the talent of Pat Barnette. A great athlete with the ability to jump through the gymnasium roof, Pat is attracting interest from more schools everyday. Not a real speedster, Pat is a super athlete that could play a variety of positions at the next level. His 4.6-second 40-yard dash time is fast enough when you have the ability that Pat has.

"I'm playing basketball now and we have a great team. Once the season is over I plan on working out hard. I have a great opportunity; I want to take advantage of it. I have a lot to prove."

An athlete with big-play potential, keep an eye on this one as he will continue to get faster and bigger. With a great season this upcoming fall, he should continue to bring college recruiters his way.
