School: Carson, Calif.
First-up: Josh Ford
Position: Cornerback
Size and Speed: Josh stands 5-foot-10, weighs 170 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds.
Statistics: N/A.
Honors: N/A.
Favorite Schools: Josh is very open to the recruiting process. Ford is already getting recruiting action from Oregon, Oregon State, ASU, Arizona, San Diego State and UNLV.
The Skinny: Ford is a fantastic cover corner with outstanding speed. His speed rivals teammate Greg Chatman. To let you know what we mean by this comparison – Chatman is one of the fastest players in Southern California.
Josh is somewhat of a sleeper, but look for that to change as the season progresses. People started to take noticed this talented speed demon last season when he shut down Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft wide receiver Noah Smith. Look for Ford’s stock to climb this coming season…
Second-up: Brandon Miles
Position: Wide Receiver/Running back
Size and Speed: Brandon stands 5-foot-10, weighs 170 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
Statistics: N/A.
Honors: N/A.
Favorite Schools: Miles is getting recruiting action from Washington, Oregon, UCLA and UNLV.
The Skinny: Miles is another flyer for Carson. Though he doesn’t quite have the speed of Chatman and Ford, he still runs very well. Miles, Chatman and Ford were part of 4x100 relay team that competed in the state meet.
Brandon will see action as a wide receiver/running back and nickel back as a junior. Though Brandon probably projects as a wide receiver, he does have the skills and versatility to play defensive back on the next level.
Miles has UCLA ties. His father Bennie Miles was a standout in track for the Bruins…
Third-up: Sete Aulai
Position: Offensive lineman
Size and Speed: Sete stands 6-foot-3, weighs 270 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds.
Statistics: N/A.
Honors: N/A.
Favorite Schools: Sete is hearing from schools like Oregon, Arizona, Washington, Michigan and Iowa.
The Skinny: One thing the D1 scouts like about Sete is his quickness. He even ran the ball on the old fumble-rooski play a couple of times his junior season.
Aulai has a great attitude on and of the field. He’s a hard worker who always trying to fine-tune his game.
Sete has the size, quickness and toughness to make him a good one on the next level…
Last But Not Least: Kevin McCall
Position: Running Back
Size and Speed: Kevin stands 6-0, weighs 170 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
Statistics: N/A.
Honors: N/A.
Favorite Schools: McCall has the right stuff and the proof is the fact schools like Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, ASU, Washington and UCLA are showing interest.
The Skinny: “Kevin is the real,” said Carson head coach John Aguirre. “McCall should come into his own as a senior. He had flashes of brilliance as junior.”
Kevin has all the ingredients to make a huge impact on the next level. He possesses good size and speed. He’s also an adequate blocker and has good hands.
McCall is a relative of Oregon State Beaver running back Patrick McCall.
