Position: Strong Safety.
Size and Speed: Matt stands 6-foot-2, weighs in at 190 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds.
Statistics: Matt racked up 87 tackles, five sacks, four passes broken up, three fumbles recovered, and three interceptions as a junior. Culver returned one of his picks 60 yards for a touchdown.
Honors: Culver was an all-league selection as a junior.
Favorite Schools: Culver is hearing from hometown Hawaii, San Diego State, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona and ASU. He has no favorites at the moment.
Skinny: Culver is a hard-hitting strong safety who blows up running backs and wide receivers who come into his area for a hobby. Why you ask? Because he models his game after the former USC and 49er great defensive back Ronnie Lott. Culver is a hitter who really can lay on the wood.
Matt is a tremendous all-around athlete who is also an all-state performer in soccer. He is a tireless worker who constantly working on improving all the aspects of his game. Culver is a very coachable young man who will do whatever his coach asks of him.
Culver is somewhat of a sleeper so he will attend the Nike combine at USC in two weeks and Matt is also scheduled to attend camps at USC and Oregon. Did we tell you he loves to hit?
