Statistics: Jackson accounted for 130 tackles, 20 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, seven fumbles caused, five forced interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
Honors: All-State, All-Area and All-Area Lineman of the Year.
Favorite Schools: Lawrence is keeping his options open and wants to go through the recruiting process. Jackson told Rivals that he visited Miami’s practice when the Hurricanes were preparing for the Rose Bowl. Lawrence told Rivals that he would love to hear from Miami because he was impressed by the way the Hurricanes handled themselves under the pressure of the National Championship game. We have the feeling that the Hurricanes will get in touch with this youngster this coming spring. Lawrence mentioned that he has heard from the entire Pac 10 and that UCLA came out of the gate quick with an offer. Oregon and Arizona are also recruiting him hard.
The Skinny: Lawrence will be one of the most sought after defensive end prospects on the west coast this season. Mark that down.
Jackson has outstanding size and quickness. He unstoppable on the high school level and always draws the attention of two more blockers.
Lawrence has a tremendous work ethic on and off the field. He benches 350lbs, squats 495lbs and power cleans 275lbs. Jackson’s 3.0 GPA shows his effort in the classroom as well. Lawrence will take the SAT this May.
Jackson has been called the consummate team player with great leadership qualities. He wants to help everyone on his team to become as good as they can be on and off the field.
“I have a great deal of respect for the game of football,” said Lawrence. “Once I get between the white lines, I become an all-out warrior. You either give 100% or you get left behind,” added the talented Jackson. One of the things we like about Lawrence is he always gives the game his all.
Jackson’s upside is unlimited and he’s just beginning to come into his own as a football player
Lawrence also has the bloodlines his brother Keith Jackson was one of the most sought after offensive line prospects on the west coast last season. The Arizona Wildcats were the lucky team to sign Keith.
When Rivals asked Lawrence if the Arizona Wildcats were his favorite team, he relied, “They are one of many teams I am looking at.” “I want to keep my options open and go through the process and make the best decision all-around decision for me.”
Though Jackson is a standout as both a DE and TE, he projects as a DE.
