Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Kyle stands 6-foot-4, weighs 195 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds. While we don’t have all of Wright’s max numbers, but he has squatted 225 pounds 18 times. Wright benches 245 pounds and recorded 30 vertical jump.
Statistics: Wright threw for 3,010 yards and 29 touchdowns with 10 interceptions as a junior.
Honors: Kyle was selected all-league, all-area and all-bay area for his performance in 2001.
Favorite Schools: According to Monte Vista head coach Craig Bergman UCLA and Stanford have offered the talented quarterback a scholarship. Kyle is very open and is keeping his options open. He has heard from the entire Pac 10, Michigan, Miami, Tennessee and BC. UCLA, Stanford, Washington, Miami and Tennessee are the early favorites.
The Skinny: Wright is very smart and his technique is almost flawless. His work ethic is tremendous and he's always trying to improve his game.
Wright has the great combination of a quick release and a powerful arm. Two traits you love to see in a quarterback.
“Kyle is advanced beyond his years,” said Monte Vista head coach Craig Bergman. “His knowledge of the game is tremendous and he runs the no huddle offense flawlessly.”
Wright also has the leadership qualities that are much desired in a big time quarterback prospect.
