Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Justin stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 195 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, bench presses 225 pounds and squats 300. He has a 30-inc vertical leap.
Statistics: Last season Midgett threw for 1,653 yards with 18 touchdowns and completed 52-percent of his passes.
Honors: Blue chip all-area selection as a junior.
Favorite Schools: Florida, Florida State, NC State, North Carolina, Mississippi, South Florida.
Skinny: Midgett already has offers from NC State and North Carolina and plenty more will follow. He’s considered to be one of the top players in Florida and perhaps the best signal-caller in the state. Throwing touchdown passes to Florida State signee Dishon Platt certainly didn’t hurt, but Midgett stands on his own merits as well.
“I consider myself a very intense, pro-style quarterback,” he said. “I’m not sure what camps I’ll go to this summer, but I’d like to make my decision before my senior season starts.”
Midgett was invited to too many junior days to recount and is being recruited the hardest by NC State and North Carolina. However, his two favorites are in-state schools.
“I like the tradition and offensive style at Florida and the same things at Florida State,” he said. “NC State and North Carolina have offered and the style at NC State is good while the coaches at North Carolina make them interesting.”
Midgett has followed Florida for a while now and it seems that the Gators might have the edge if they offer him early.
