Size and speed: Jonathan stands 6-foot-6, weighs 250 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.
Statistics: Didn’t allow a sack on offense and made 72 tackles, registered seven sacks, forced four fumbles and recovered three more on defense.
Honors: Boston Herald all scholastic for 2001.
Favorite Schools: Boston College, Michigan State, Stanford, Notre Dame, USC, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Syracuse, Duke, Vanderbilt.
Skinny: Loyte is probably the quickest offensive line prospect in the country and could be a tight end in any offense as well. Loyte plays center on the 11-0 Catholic Conference championship team and doubles as a pass-rushing defensive end on defense.
“Right now I’m getting a lot of mail from different schools,” he said. “I went to the BC Junior Day and had a great time there. I don’t have any offers yet but a few schools said they would offer soon. I want to take my time and make sure I make the right choice.”
Loyte will probably camp at Stanford and Notre Dame this summer and was a BC camper last summer. His athleticism and versatility will have many schools visiting during the May evaluation period and Loyte is considered to be one of the top players in New England this year.
