Position: All-purpose quarterback
Size and speed: Joe is 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and runs a 4.55 second 40-yard dash.
Statistics: Last season, Joe connected on 94 of his 120 passes for 1,120 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also ran for 700 yards and six touchdowns.
Honors: All-Hudson County dream team for the second year in a row. All-county, all-area, all-conference, first team group 4 all-state parochial.
Favorite Schools: Joe has no favorites at this time, but has been contacted by more than 30 schools and already has offers from Rutgers and Syracuse. Others showing a great deal of interest are Maryland, Florida, Boston College, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Iowa, Penn St., Michigan State and many others.
Skinny: Joe is considered one of the top players in the state of New Jersey and on the east coast. Besides his two offers now, he should have plenty of more offers on the table before the new season starts. He is an exceptional athlete with great quickness and a very strong arm. He runs with the football as well as he throws it and has been labeled "Slash" because of his scrambling abilities. He is the kind of player that can change a game with one play. Many college recruiters are comparing him to last year’s five-star Virginia Tech recruit, Marcus Vick.
"I consider myself a drop back quarterback, but I can run as well. I want to play at a school that I have the chance to do both."
Joe lives in Freehold, New Jersey, but travels three hours a day back and forth to Saint Peter’s Prep in Jersey City. He feels that attending Saint Peter’s Prep will help him be better prepared for the college level.
Will Joe verbal early?
"No, I think that I want to take my visits. I don't want to rush things, but I do know that I would like to play at a school that plays Virginia Tech. Marcus Vick and I attended the Virginia camp together and became friends, I would love to play against him."
