Position: Quarterback
Size and speed: Jerod Floyd is 6–foot-1 and 195 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 4.7 seconds.
Statistics:
He completed 138 of 198 passing attempts for an all-time completion percentage record of 72.6 percent. He had 2,554 passing yards, scoring 23 touchdowns, while only throwing five interceptions.
He was sacked nine times and had six rushing yards, while scoring seven touchdowns.
Honors: He had some, but he couldn't remember all of them. He did make first team all-district.
Favorite Schools: At this time he is hearing from Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin and a number of Ivy League schools, principally Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Penn.
"Missouri is recruiting the hardest, with the most letters and invites to camp and what not. At this time there is no clear favorite, though if a decision had to be made today, it would probably be Missouri."
Skinny: His visits, if he could make them today, would be to the following schools.
Missouri: "It's close to home, and the coach, because I like what he's trying to do with the program."
Wisconsin: "They have a really good ag-business program, and the snow could be fun."
Illinois: "They're recruiting me."
Kansas: "A good school. The outdoor recreational opportunities, and they're recruiting me."
"Distance will probably not be a factor, as I'm going to look at playing time for a winning program at a school with good academics."
Floyd plans to attend camp at Nebraska and Missouri.
His mother would prefer that he stay close to home, while his dream schools would be Nebraska, for their really good winning tradition, or Florida, because "it's Florida".
His major is undecided, and he has set his sports goal as a state championship.
Of his toughest opposing player he said, "I can't remember his name, but it would have to be a defensive player from Mt. Vernon High School. He was either a defensive end, or outside linebacker, but it seems like he sacked me three times at least."
He benches 250 pounds, squats 410 pounds, and he has a cumulative GPA of 3.4 and plans to take the ACT in April.
He also plays basketball, in the position of guard or small forward, and baseball, in the position of catcher or pitcher.
At this time he isn't being shown any interest from colleges in either of those sports.
