Junior to Watch: Jason Turner
School: La Canada (Calif.) Saint Francis
Size and Speed: Jason stands 6-foot-2, weighs 220 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds. He currently benches 360 pounds, but with his work ethic and off-season workout regimen he could be benching 400 pounds by summer.
Statistics: As a linebacker Jason racked up 106 tackles, five tackles for loss, four sacks and three picks. As a part time fullback, Jason carried the ball 32 times for 177 yards. He also caught six passes for 76 yards.
Honors: Turner was selected all-CIF and all-league.
Favorite Schools: Turner is keeping all his options open. He has currently received correspondence from USC, UCLA, Washington, Boston College and Penn State. Turner has family ties to the Boston area so BC is not out of the question.
The Skinny: Jason should play linebacker on the next level, but he certainly has the talent to play fullback on the next level.
Turner has great instincts, he always finds his way to the ball. “Jason has been a dominating starter for us since his sophomore year and was all-league”, said Saint Francis head coach Jim Bonds. “Everybody knew who he was and they still couldn’t stop him,” added Bonds.
The scouting report on Turner is he’s BIG hitter who loves contact. He’s very physical player who LOVES to HIT…
