Junior to Watch: Greg Gaskins

School: Manhattan, Kansas

Position: Safety

Size and Speed: Gaskins is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds. He has been timed at 4.40 in the 40-yard dash.

Favorite Schools: Gaskins, one of the top players in the state of Kansas for the Class of 2003, will draw more attention as his senior season goes on but currently he has received intial interest from the schools close to Manhattan.

Skinny: Gaskins is one of the top athletes in the midwest region for the 2003 recruiting year. He will play safety for the Manhattan High School defense and also see some time at quarterback as a senior. "He's been the leader of our secondary," Manhattan head coach Butch Albright said. "He's an excellent athlete and we're going to probably use him as our quarterback next year too."

Gaskins also excels on the basketball court. He earned most valuable player honors at both the Michigan State and Kansas State summer basketball camps a year ago. "He's the point guard for the basketball team too," Albright added. "He'll get some attention for both sports."
