High School: Manhattan, Kansas

Position: Safety and Dual-threat quarterback
Size and Speed: Gaskins is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds. He runs a 4.4 40-yard dash.
Statistics: He didn't have his stats at hand.
Honors: He was named first team 6A all-state and I-70 League as a safety.
Favorite Schools: He has heard from primarily Kansas State and Kansas, but has also received interest from Boston College, Oklahoma State and Michign State.
"My parents would probably like me to stay close, but I'll eventually go wherever it's the best situation for me."
When asked for a list of his current favorites, he named the following schools (listed in order of mention):
1. Kansas State - "I'm from Manhattan so it would be nice to play there. I've been of fan of theirs for a long time. I went to the Colorado game and another game which was a blowout last year. Their facilities are real nice. The coaches are good people, they've been cool to me and made me feel comfortable when I visited."
2. Kansas - "It's in Kansas, so I owe it to myself and family to check it out. Mark Mangino used to be in Manhattan when he coached at Kansas State. I played basketball with his son when we were in the seventh grade."
Asked if he had a 'dream visit' Gaskins said, "Probably LSU. I used to be a big fan of theirs when I was younger. It would be interesting to check them out."
Skinny: He's thinking about going to camps at Kansas State and Kansas this summer.
He has a GPA of 3.4 and will be taking the ACT in June.
He is also a basketball player of note (he's averaging 16 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds as a point guard) and has received recruiting interest in that sport as well from Kansas State, Wichita State and South Alabama. He earned most valuable player honors at both the Michigan State and Kansas State summer basketball camps in 2001.
He sees his future in football on the next level.
