Junior to Watch: Eddie Pinigis

School: Lynchburg (Va.) Jefferson Forest

Position: Offensive line

Size and speed: Pinigis is 6-foot-8 and weighs 285 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds.

Statistics: n/a

Honors: First team all-district, all-region, all-area. Ranked as the # 8 junior in Virginia by the Roanoke Times.

Favorite Schools: Tennessee, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, Notre Dame, East Carolina.

Skinny: Pinigis is a massive offensive tackle with long arms and excellent technique. He has heard from more than 40 teams so far and should have offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Wake Forest very soon. Pinigis uses his arms very well, moves his feet quickly and shows good balance for a taller player. He has a special place in his heart for Virginia Tech although Tennessee has a slight lead.

“Calvert Jones is my uncle and he played offensive tackle at Virginia Tech,” he said. “I’ve followed them forever.”

Pinigis is looking for certain things in a school.

“I want a nice campus, good academics and a team that will give me a lot of exposure,” he said. “I want to play in the NFL someday.”

Pinigis will camp at Wake Forest, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech this summer.
