Favorite Schools: Williams lists Ole Miss, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida and Miami as his top five teams. He does not have any scholarship offers at this point, but will be camping this summer at Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn and hopefully Notre Dame.
Skinny: They love speed in the South. And that’s why coaches are going to love Lovejoy, Ga., all-purpose back Dyran Williams.
The 5-foot-8, 165 pound Williams self-reported a 4.21-second time in the 40-yard dash. His coach said he is a consistent low 4.4-second guy, so it’s definitely clear that Williams can keep up with anybody around.
“I’m a playmaker,” Williams said.
“I’m like Barry Sanders. I make them all miss with my speed and moves.”
Along with his great speed and Barry Sanders’ moves, Williams said he has something else that helps him stand out – heart.
“All I want to do is play and win,” Williams said. “That’s all I live for. That’s all that I am about – winning. Coach (Al) Hughes is the same way. He wants his players to their best at all times. I’m not going to give anybody any excuses.”
When it does come time to talk about recruiting, Williams has outlined a few things he’ll be looking for.
“I want to play at a school where I can get academically what I want,” he said. “I’ll also look at things like how I will make an impact.”
