Position: Cornerback
Size and speed: Whitner is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. He has been timed at 4.3 in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: Whitner made 87 tackles and picked off three passes during his junior season. He also broke up 19 passes. Whitner has a 3.7 GPA.
Honors: All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Ohio
Favorite Schools: Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Iowa, and West Virginia.
Skinny: Whitner will be one of the country's top cornerback prospects. He has blazing speed (10.4 100 meters) and makes plays.
"I like Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Iowa, West Virginia, all of those schools except Tennessee have already offered me," Whitner said.
"And Pitt, Toledo, and Michigan State have offered too."
"I don't really have a favorite. Maybe it's between Ohio State and Michigan. I like those two because they have good coaching staffs."
"I just came back from Michigan's junior day last weekend. It was nice. I met coach Carr."
"I'm going to Ohio State's junior day on Saturday. Dareus is going too."
Dareus is teammate Dareus Hiley, a standout who is being recruited as an athlete. Hiley also attended Michigan's junior day this past weekend.
