Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Dennis stands 6-foot-4, weighs 185 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds.
Statistics: In 25-career games Dennis has completed 148 passes out of 242 attempts for 3,413 yards, 47 TDs and 13 interceptions. For his career, Dennis has completed 61% of his passes. Dixon completed 77 passes out of 124 attempts for 1,713 yards, 23 TDs and five interceptions as a junior. He hit on 62% of his pass attempts as a junior.
Honors: Dennis was selected first-team all-league.
Favorite Schools: Dennis is completely open in the early going and will weigh his options. He has an offer from UCLA, while USC, Washington and Oregon State are showing a lot of interest and could offer any day. When everything is said and done, Dennis will be able to choose his school.
The Skinny: Dixon is very competitive and doesn’t like to lose. His record as a starter is 23-2 with both losses coming at the hands of Concord (Calif.) DeLaSalle. There’s no shame losing to DeLaSalle, the Spartans haven’t lost a game for years!
Dennis throws a very catchable ball. He knows when to put touch on the ball and when to throw heat.
Dixon has the intangibles you love to see in a quarterback. He’s very smart, knows what’s happening around him and has the all-important leadership skills that are so important for a quarterback.
There was a rumor circulating that UCLA would be the odds on favorite to win the services for the talented signal-caller from San Leandro and that they could get his commitment very soon. The reason being is one of his best friends is UCLA bound safety Jarrad Page. While Dixon may end up at UCLA, San Leandro head coach Danny Calcagno thinks his talented QB will experience some of the recruiting process before making a decision.
Dixon is also a talented baseball player and may want to play that sport in college as well…
