Position: Athlete/Safety
Size and speed: Deandre Jackson is 6–foot-0 and 180 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 4.4 seconds.
Statistics: He did not have last year's statistics available right now and his limited play due to injury would make his statistics to be not indicative of his ability right now.
Honors: He received no honors, because he only got to play one game due to injury. He's back to a 100% now.
Favorite Schools: He's hearing from Florida, Texas A&M, Southern Methodist, Penn State, Iowa, Indiana, UCLA, Louisiana State, Colorado, Rice, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Baylor, and Arizona State.
Texas A&M, Iowa, and Florida are recruiting the hardest, and he said, "if I really had to choose today, it would probably be A&M that would get my commitment."
If he could make his officials today, he'd go to:
Iowa: "They're recruiting hard, with a lot of mail."
Colorado: "They're recruiting me."
Oklahoma: "I have friends there who recommended it, and it would be a cool place to go."
Texas A&M: "The atmosphere for players is great. The coaches are all cool, and I also have friends there."
Penn State: "They wrote me about playing quarterback, and that's the position I'd much rather play."
Skinny: "Distance will not be a factor, as I want to get away."
"I want a good educational program, comfortable surroundings, and to feel comfortable with the school. I will also be looking at how the coaches interact with the players and at the academic standard in the job market."
He has attended camp at Texas A&M and he said "I haven't any actual camps scheduled yet, but I do plan to attend as many as possible this summer."
His dream school would be Miami of Florida, because "it would be fun to play there, and it has always been my favorite while growing up."
He is undecided on a major, though he would like to do something with computers.
He has set his sports goals as making first team as a quarterback, making the state playoffs since they went 3-7 last year, and being ranked in the top 10 in the state.
His strong points: "I'm smart, and I'm fast." He described himself as "an aggressive player".
When asked about his toughest opposing player: "I don't know about last year, as I didn't get to play long enough. But as a sophomore, it was Ellis Hawes from DeSoto High School."
Jackson benches 225 pounds, squats 315 pounds, and has a vertical leap of 30 inches.
He has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and he will take the SAT March 16.
